I’ve thought about this for awhile and decided that it would be a good idea to start blogging again. I looked at some of the free hosted stuff, but didn’t like the options and the limited chance to really change the blog/website into something I wanted. With all of the design options that WordPress offered, I couldn’t resist. You can start quickly and change themes with a blink of an eye. Hopefully, with a little practice and some help from the ever-friendly WordPress community, I can customize my site to where I want it.
Being chided by my friend, Laurie, I decided to grab my name from the ICANN register and throw up my own website. Two birds with one stone, I thought. I have a difficult time trying to keep up with all of my friends and family, particularily bad at calling or emailing them. Not that I don’t care about them, just that I’m easily distracted (one of my failings) and will go months without any contact to them. This way, I believe I can help out. Because I want to write, because I want to have my website actually do something rather than be some regurgitative, self-indulgent website, I want to post things that I do so people aren’t wondering if I’ve died/fallen off the edge of the world.
Before I fully publish this to others, I want to get at least a few posts under my belt so it looks like something rather than an empty website. Any suggestions or comments are welcome and appreciated (please leave in the comment section).
I’m hoping that this is a reconnection to many people that I think of often, care about deeply and wish I was with. I’m hoping for a conversation, new friends and old, together at one site. This is something I’m excited about and hope you are as well.
