For those of you who don’t know, I was in New York recently (September 10th through the 16th–note those dates) for business. It was the third time I visited the Big Apple and the first time that I didn’t get to do one of my very favorite things while there. Thing is, it was busy. I worked some long hours and there just wasn’t really a lot of time to get out and experience the city as it is. Pity though. We were staying in Times Square and in the thick of things.
The thing I didn’t get to do that I really wanted to do was make a phone call, but not just any ordinary call. The last two times that I’ve been to New York, I’ve gone to the Empire State Building and waited in line to go to the observation tower near the top. Up there, they have a pay phone. No big deal, right? But I called home each time and while I was talking to my family (or leaving a message), I took a picture of me talking on the phone. Kind of a “in the moment” sort of thing. I know that doesn’t seem like a lot, but it was fun to do and I feel bad for not finding some time to do just that.
Anyway, I’m not sure that had anything to do with the current theme I’m running on the website which is of a subway stop on Utica Avenue. I thought it looked good and I’m going with it until I find something a little more close to home.
