I’m sitting around today, comfortably getting used to the idea that my life is going to be going through some serious changes.  For the first time since early college, come November 1st, I will be taking time off for the foreseeable future.  Which means that I do not have a job following my current job, nor do I intend to seek one.  At least not right away.  I’ll have a few months where I can relax, take care of my wife and wait expectantly for our first child to arrive.  Very, very exciting.

But I had been concerned about just what would I do with all of that time.  No longer.  I find that within the last couple of days that I’m actually compelled to do keep busy with things that I care about and to get back to the creative life in ways that I’ve been missing since early 2000.  This is mostly concerning my writing.  The timing is good seeing that we are in the early days of the sign ups for NaNoWriMo which inspires so many people every year to write.  Also, more blog posts seem certain.

Some of those other changes you might have noticed are on this website.  First of all, favicon.  I’m excited about that.  If you don’t know of what I speak, you might notice a little blue icon with a recognizable “t” and “b” on it in the address bar of your browser.  I made that.  Nice, huh?  Makes the page seem a bit more professional.  It’s just one of those nice little touches that make it seem like a webpage really exists.

Speaking of further webpage things, I changed the appearance of it (I like it), cleaned up the list of links, and added some neat features such as linking You Tube videos and my reading list.  Even better than before!  More changes I know are coming such as adding pages to my website (you’ll see) and hopefully linking various ways of contacting me through places like Facebook, Linked-in and Twitter.  In the meantime, enjoy.

For those of you who need a hint at what I refer to in the title, check out the vid.  It’s a classic.
