Want to know what a pretty good day looks like?
- Wake up in the morning at an indeterminate time, not too early, not too late, just because you wanted to wake up.
- Get a latte and four of the finest pastries ever to grace your lips and consume slowly while having a nice chat with your radiant wife.
- Mosey on down to the bookstore to browse the shelves, knowing you’ve got a $40 gift certificate burning a hole in your pocket in case something really catches your eye.
- Trip across the street on a nice snowy day to have a fine beer and eat a big bowl of Beef and Guinness Stew.
- Sit around in a very comfortable hotel room and have a couple of quick conversations with good friends while your wife takes a nap.
- Nonchalantly read some news/blogs on your laptop in a very comfortable chair with the slight hum of activity barely noticeable out the window.
- Party with some excellent friends tonight.
That’s a good day in my book. Not much else going on, but the little mini-vacation is really nice.
