Let me just come right out and say that the U Street Cafe has matured and is a boon for the street.  They make a very tasty latté now where in the past there was a bit of inconsistency in how they made it, most of the time resembling more of a Café au lait than an actual latté.  The menu has improved as well and the food is good to eat and appropriately priced.

Anyway, getting back to the old stamping grounds of U Street, it brings back a flood of good memories.  What feels weird is not being in the office and in an unconscious meditation of hoping the servers don’t seize up and crash.

What’s nice about travel is that you do get a different perspective on things and the usual to someone else may seem like something different and worthy to write about to you.  Conversely, it can be difficult to try and write about stuff that you find ordinary without sounding like a diary entry.  But wandering around a city you are familiar with but not, shall we say, intimate, that can be fun to do as you notice little things that the people there would miss.

Last little note for today; I just got news a couple of hours ago that frankly, I find myself pretty excited about, but I’m not going to spill the beans quite yet until I get pictures.  You will know all by the end of the week, I promise!  Till then, it’s my secret.  (insert maniacal laughter here)

  1. Does this news have anything to do with gender?

  2. I wonder if libations might facilitate the big reveal!

  3. Nothing shall be revealed until the time is at hand! On some items, I have the patience of a Tibetan monk.

However, any guesses will be enjoyed, thoughtfully played with and answered with a sufficiently vague answer.

  4. To JTL: Yes…and no! Muhahahahahahaaaa!

  5. It must be evil twins!!!
